Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education is an authentic body for controlling and administrating higher education. It has many responsibilities to provide all important and essential curriculums, appointment of examiners and supervisors for conducting examination. It’s headquarter is located at H-8/4 Islamabad. It is for Intermediate education not only in schools and colleges of Pakistan, but also over-seas. Students are provided with learning environment, It was established under FBISE ACT in 1975 it has administrative and financial body which control and regulate secondary education within the institutions affiliated with Federal Board. Its jurisdiction consists of Islamabad Capital Territory, All over Pakistan cantonments and garrison, Federally Administrated Northern Areas and Overseas.
Federal perform its activities under rules and regulations of board conduct examination with institutions affiliated in Pakistan and Abroad, it gives syllabus for SSC and HSSC and it provides physical and well being of students. Inspite of SSC and HSSC certificates it also grants Allama Iqbal Gold Medal Competitive and Diploma in Education. It works to gain progress of new generation as they would be leaders of tomorrow with futuristic aims and examination system under the control of Federal ministry of education. It doesn’t believe on learning text but based on conceptual learning books included in syllabus are revised time to time with most authentic content.

Admissions commence two months before examinations of matriculation and intermediate, forms are made available in affiliated colleges not only this, but also online forms are available for registration. Many students appear every year some as regular and other as private students. Subjects and schedules are regulated by board’s administration, subjects and groups are Arts and Science for matriculation students and Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, Commerce, General Science and Arts for intermediate students.
